This hawk flew to about 6 feet from me stuffed one tallon into a clump of grass and kept thrusting vigorously at something. Whatever it was he didn't catch it.Earlier I had been detained by a call on my mobile as I entered Corkscrew Swamp and I was told I missed this or another hawk showing off the snake it had caught!.The volunteer wardens told me the hawks regarded us as interlopers---the swamp belonged to them. When they caught prey they liked to show it to anyone available but they never shared their catch!!
